SOLD OUT!
Actor, writer, musician and performer Brian Kneipp appears as a number of supercharged comic creations, (including himself), in a one man show that is full of laughs and music. Professor Edward E. Edwards, (the Visiting Research Fellow to the Hinze Chair of Inscrutable Semiotics at Bond University), shares some of his research into the murky netherworld of Bush Poetry, as well as his most recent forays into the Cajun Music genre. Internationally known Bush Balladeer, Folklorist and Raconteur, Fat Guts Gidgee, demonstrates various poetic and storytelling techniques. Francis Xavier James "Fog" Clearing conducts the strangest and funniest music lesson you’ll ever see, with stories from within the music industry gathered over a (to say the least), chequered fifty year career, and including some of his secret techniques and tips for the electric guitar. Blues legend Sleepy Fig Withers makes a rare personal appearance and unveils some of his latest tunes and the frankly disturbing stories behind them. A rare insight into the life and times of a true Bluesman who Rolling Stone magazine once described as, "Dead". Brian himself reveals "Three Sure–Fire Ways to Murder Shakespeare", an invaluable guide to anyone who has ever wondered why this rubbish is supposed to be entertaining, complete with backstage drug abuse etiquette pointers, and with appropriate demonstrations by the Author. A truly memorable night in the theatre.
"Anyone at the recent Townsville art awards would have gone away with the lasting memory of probably the outstanding performance in the city this year, that of Professor Edward E Edwards (Aka Brian Kneipp), completing a wonderful skit sending up academia, with a rendition of Johnny B Goode that will not be forgotten. It was one of those performances." |
